Abstract from Karippaparambil Kudumbacharithram (Courtsey Sri.K.J.Joseph. U.S.A.) Oldest known ancestor of Karippaparambil Family Ancestors of present Karippaparampil family are direct descendants of Marthoma Christians from “Nilakkal”.They settled in present day Kanjirappally area during the 14th century. “Valiaveetil Thommi” is the oldest known person who first settled in Kanjirappally. He left “Nilakkal” after an attack on their settlement by either by’Tandipada” or by some epidemic illness, which later destroyed the importance of “Nilakkal”. History of Akkarra Pally /“Pazhaya Pally” in Kanjirappally. It is Thommi the great grandson of Valiaveetil Thommi, who bulit the first church in Kanjirappally. It is known as Akkara Pally or Pazhaya Pally. Thommi did not have a child for years after marriage. He prayed to God and offered penance.
